ArtFare is bustling with activity, the gallery is being designed and renovations have begun throughout our buildings We are proud to represent a diverse group of persons, and the center is well on its way to once again becoming Tucson’s hub for arts activity. ArtFare is presently providing exciting volunteer and intern opportunities for the community.

The minimum commitment is for 4 weeks from 2-4 hours a week. Be able to spend at least 2 hours at a time working Hours may expand or contract depending on the volunteer and the needs of the project or individual program. ArtFare.org also offers these opportunities as a means of fulfilling community service requirements. The following procedures are required for new volunteers:

1) Schedule an interview by calling 520-903-0918
2) Complete an application packet, including a reference check form
3) Attend an interview and orientation

Junior Volunteer (volunteers under age 18)

Volunteers under the age of 18 may work as volunteers if, and only if, a parent or guardian is present during the volunteer shift or has given written consent

Junior Volunteers can assist in all the childrens programs and events. This is a great way to build your resume for your first paid job. No special training is required.

Front Desk – Office Support

Love talking on the phone? You can help us!

ArtFare.org needs help staffing a busy office: phones ring, mail arrives, bulk mailings are sent out, and every time the front door opens, a new opportunity walks through it.  If you are organized and have computer skills, we have an opportunity for you. If you are free during the weekday and can commit at least a portion of one or two mornings or afternoons per week, a regular time slot of four hours a week would be perfect.

We run multiple programs from our office, so there is always plenty to do. At this time, we are only seeking volunteers who can offer clerical/administrative help so there is no “training” per se except learning about the phone procedures.ArtFare offices are handicap-accessible and welcome volunteers with different abilities.  Bi-lingual (Spanish) speaking is helpful but not necessary.

The office support staff provides telephone, customer service and clerical support for the ArtFare.org. We are looking for someone with office skills, who can work a regular schedule in our office. This position requires excellent oral communication skills. Bi-lingual (Spanish) speaking is helpful but not necessary

Certified Public Accountant

We are in need of a professional to do our yearly Financial Audit for Grant applications. This person must be familiar with audit requirements for grants, some of which are government, grants.

Bookkeeper

We are in need of a part-time bookkeeper with a background in Excel and State and Federal Tax Prep. This position should only take a few hours every two weeks.This volunteer would coordinate with the Corporate Bookkeeper as directed and would not be responsible for the books of the organization, but only with the day to day transactions of the various retail entities associated with ArtFare.org

Grant Writer for Arts and Humanities Fund Raising Program

As a small non-profit we don’t have the internal expertise to write grants nor do we have the funding to purchase that expertise.

Because is striving to be a global project based in Tucson, the grant writer/researcher will have an opportunity to write grants to local, national, and international granting agencies. Individual will assist Programs Coordinator in Volunteer Office to raise funds for Southern Arizona Arts and Humanities programs. Duties will include identifying available funding, writing grant requests, and assisting with submitting grant requests. Persons familiar with terminology of grant applications, who have some expertise in expressing the essence of the organization. Volunteer can do some work from home Flexible hours. Experience in researching, writing and submitting grants for funding. PC skills (MSWord, Excel) required. All volunteers are interviewed before being assigned to a position.

Previous grant writing experience required with a demonstrated ability to be funded.

Fund Raising Assistant

This person would assist with Donor Development program. Duties include: development of program materials, coordination and maintenance of donor database, composing and sending acknowledgment letters to donors, organization of mailings, and helping plan and implement fund raising events.

Qualifications include: The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; capable of working independently on assigned projects; and excellent computer skills..

Education Volunteer

Do you enjoy arts projects? Offer your skills and talents to our organization. ArtFare.org needs knowledgeable persons with an interest in theatre, music, visual and applied arts to help with the constant organization of childrens’ and adult programming.

Education volunteers perform multi-tasks such as answering the phone, copying materials, registering members for class, resolving problems- greeting members-assisting instructors with class questions. ArtFare.org recruits for volunteer instructors and program aides on an on-going basis. Volunteer instructor may work in any number of settings, including one-on-one, in small groups or working with many individuals in a classroom situation. Volunteers work under the guidance and direction of a “supervising arts instructor” in areas that include art projects, clay programs, and theater productions. Flexibility, people skills are necessary.

Development and Research Volunteer Opportunities

Working in Development is a great resume builder! Our Development Department often needs volunteers who are willing to assist with one-time projects. Most often we ask volunteers to help with putting together large mailings, do research, assist in fund raising, help with special events, and copy and compile manuals and other materials. Volunteers provide services to the Development Department on an as-needed basis. Contact artist and Arts based organizations around the world. Coordinate and assist in developing arts festivals

Volunteers with the Development Department will be evaluated and placed on an individual basis, according to their skills, interests and availability.

Volunteer Development Assistant

The Volunteer Development Assistant works with the Development Director and Volunteer/Intern Program Manager to assist with development projects and events and the promotion of a professional image for the agency. The volunteer may assist with regular fund raising and marketing events and agency fairs. The volunteer may assist with the development of regular projects, such as the quarterly newsletter, direct mail campaigns, and annual reports. The volunteer may assist with marketing strategies for the agency and the nurturing of donor relations.

Graphic arts skills and computer skills are preferred.

This volunteer position will provide active clerical support to the Volunteer Coordinator. This may involve data entry, phone work and setting up appointments, helping to coordinate correspondence (regular mail and e-mail) and any number of activities related to the office of the volunteer coordinator who is responsible for coordinating and supervising all volunteers.

Responsibilities include preparing correspondence and reports from the Development Directors office. Assist in copying, collating, and mailing of agendas, documents and reports for a wide variety of programs/meetings such as Board of Directors meetings Organize and maintain current and active filing systems and databases

Qualifications include Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Capable of working independently on assigned projects.

This position requires someone with excellent computer skills, is highly organized and self directed but also able to work as part of a team.

Programs Ambassador

We are seeking dependable volunteers with a positive attitude who like to travel about town! There are so many valuable activities happening at our Community Arts Center; we just need your help in spreading the word distributing posters, fliers, and brochures. Distribution occurs roughly once a month and would require 3-4 hours of your valuable time.

Volunteers for this position must have good walking shoes. A valid AZ driver’s license and their own vehicle are desirable but not required.

ArtFare.org is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are interested in speaking with local groups and businesses about our programs. Our mission supports programs for at-risk youth makes our programs inviting for individuals to want to help. We offer interactive presentations at our facility and we need assistance in inviting people to attend.

There is no training requirement to assist with building community awareness.

Copywriter/advertising for newspapers

ArtFare.org sends out copy to newspapers, and also sends out notices online to advertise upcoming performances. Knowledge of computer and printer helpful.

Responsibilities include Coordinating newsletter writing and publication.  Publication of documents to include fund raising brochures and letters, other marketing materials, annual reports, etc. Produce print materials and multi-media presentations to generate interest and support in existing and new markets

Qualifications include Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Knowledge of marketing and public relations excellent computer skills.

Merchandising Volunteer

Responsibilities include: inventory, merchandise sales at special events and on web site, recruiting volunteers to place promotional material with local retailers .On the job training.

Yard Work, Maintenance and Repairs

We are always in need of volunteers who are willing to give of their time. Volunteers are welcome to specify their areas of interest and ability in any of these or related areas. Services are generally provided on an as-needed basis.

We need help to trim trees and bushes, pull weeds, raking, and light landscaping. We have limited landscaping needs. If you like working outside then please call us so we can schedule a time for you to come and help us with our “yard work”.

This is a Maintenance job that requires the person to be able to work outside for a short period of time doing pulling, lifting, and bending. Volunteer should have access to basic tools necessary to perform the service. Volunteers should also have general knowledge of and some experience in the service. The level of training required depends on the type of service the volunteer wishes to offer.

Concession Stand Worker

The volunteers will assist in the concession stands during Events held at ArtFare/The servers will help prepare and wrap food, make drinks, clean concession stand, etc. The volunteer will assist in all areas to help the concession stand run more smoothly. At times the volunteer may be asked to cook hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. The volunteer will be offered free soda while working. If time allows the volunteer may have the opportunity to watch the event. The volunteers will be needed in the evenings for most events.

We will explain how to handle food safely and to keep it at safe temperatures.
