Tucson Academy of Leadership & Arts get a new paint job and expands to all three floors of 55 N. Sixth Avenue.
This year is an exciting time on the ArtFare Block as our K-8 students found out during the recent open house and enrollment day at TALA. Colorful walls welcome students back and additional teachers are getting ready to greet the students. Lots of familiar faces this year as Mrs. Norris and Mr. Longacre look forward to showing off the new and improved TALA to our budding geniuses!
An expanded curriculum is also featured with more diversity in arts. Dance, theatre, and visual arts will be added to the already popular music classes.
This is just a peak at the changes in store for the coming year. Remember classes start on August 17 so get your enrollment packets in now!
Lots more changes. We’ve also added a myspace for the older kids to share with their friends. Check out www.myspace.com/talaschools.

Before school we offer students and teachers free participation in classes by local arts enthusiast Orlando Montes. Participants warm up for the day with music, dance, morning boogie and yoga movements as a team building experience.
TALA students receive music classes daily as part of the arts curriculum. Students pay a minimal amount for instruments thanks to a grant from the Chicago Store and all students learn an instrument. Instruments provided free of cost to families who are not able to pay thanks to the generosity of donors. With your help we may be able to provide all students a free instrument in the near future.TALA is accepting donations of musical instruments. |

I am interested in your school for my daughter. I need to know your hours of operations for before and after school programs, and if there is a cost to them.
Hi Sheila,
TALA is a public charter school so there is no tuition fee and they take enrollments year round. Just stop in and ask for a packet. UACT, Urban Artist Conservatory of Tucson, also offers classes after school at a small fee for those wishing to go in depth in a multitude of arts classes. Classes are available for youth or adults, day or evening. We also offer UACT classes through other charters, and to home schoolers for a small fee.
It appears that the TALA school has dropped enrollment from over a hundred to well under 50 students in is housed in 2 locations although one seems to be idle.
The arts componant is non-existant and it appears to have only Special Needs students being recruited. If your child has special needs please contact Providence Service corporation as they are the managers of the school and prominately CPSA employees are on the Board of Directors of Global Education Foundation.
